The minister underscored that climate action in India has evolved from being seen as a compulsion to becoming an economically viable proposition. Despite the developed world falling short on commitments related to funding and technology transfer, India has advanced its climate agenda while maintaining robust economic growth. Leading renewable energy companies are contributing to job creation, technological innovation, and export potential in capital goods and services.

Structural reforms in the power sector have also played a key role. Goyal highlighted the creation of a unified national grid under the “One Nation, One Grid” vision, expansion of transmission infrastructure, and revival of stalled power projects. He stressed the importance of strong base load capacity to support intermittent renewable energy sources.

Beyond infrastructure, Goyal emphasized efficiency and behavioral change as critical components of climate action. He urged individuals and industries to adopt simple practices such as saving water, switching off unused appliances, and reducing energy consumption.

With India’s growth story gaining global recognition, Goyal noted that multiple countries are engaging with India on trade and economic partnerships. He concluded by stressing that collective action - from citizens to corporations - is essential to achieving climate goals and unlocking new economic opportunities in emerging sectors.
