New Delhi, Oct 15: India is paying heartfelt tribute to Dr. A.P.J. Abdul Kalam, the 11th President of India and one of the country’s most revered scientists, on his 94th birth anniversary.

Born on October 15, 1931, in Rameswaram, Tamil Nadu, Dr. Kalam rose from humble beginnings to become a pioneering aerospace scientist and a beloved statesman.
Abdul Kalam, who was a recipient of several awards, including the Bharat Ratna, also played a pivotal organisational, technical, and political role in Pokhran-II nuclear tests in 1998, India's second such test after the first test in 1974.
