India and Germany released a joint knowledge paper on semiconductor collaboration.
Fraunhofer showcased applied R&D in CMOS, MEMS, packaging, and chip design.
New Delhi, July 31: India and Germany have taken a significant step forward in their strategic technology partnership at the 7th Fraunhofer Innovation and Technology Platform (FIT) 2025, held in New Delhi.
The event marked the launch of a joint Indo-German knowledge paper on microelectronics and semiconductors, co-authored by Fraunhofer-Gesellschaft and the EPIC Foundation.
Organized by Fraunhofer, Europe’s largest applied research organization, and supported by India’s Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology (MeitY), the conference brought together top government officials, researchers, industry leaders, and academia from both nations.
The knowledge paper outlines a collaborative roadmap for innovation, skilling, and technology development in areas such as CMOS chip design, MEMS, sensor systems, advanced packaging, and power electronics. It draws on Fraunhofer’s lab-to-market model and EPIC Foundation’s policy insights to guide joint efforts in building semiconductor capabilities.
