New Delhi/Bhubaneswar, Jan 26: India marks its 77th Republic Day Monday with patriotic fervour sweeping across the nation, from bustling cities to quiet villages.
The Tricolour will flutter proudly in the skies as New Delhi’s Kartavya Path becomes the epicentre of grand celebrations. The national flag will be unfurled by President Droupadi Murmu at the historic Red Fort, with Prime Minister Narendra Modi in attendance, setting the tone for a day of unity and pride.
The Republic Day parade at Kartavya Path will showcase India’s cultural diversity, military might, and democratic values. Thirty states and union territories will present tableaux highlighting themes of prosperity, innovation, and new ideas.
The Indian Army will display its discipline and advanced combat capabilities through battle formations, while glimpses of “Operation Sindoor” added to the spectacle.

✨This year’s ceremony is will welcome 10,000 special invitees, including scientists, athletes, farmers, women entrepreneurs, startup founders, artisans, self-help group members, differently-abled citizens, tribal representatives, and beneficiaries of government schemes. After the parade, guests will visit the National War Memorial, Prime Minister’s Museum, and other iconic sites in Delhi.
Odisha’s tableau will be shone brightly at Kartavya Path, focusing on self-reliance through indigenous production and the vision of “Atmanirbhar Bharat.”
Alongside the tableau, students from Odisha will participate in NCC and NSS parade contingents. Eight Odia students — four boys and four girls — will join the 200-member NSS team representing the nation, while 21 students from Odisha marched with the NCC contingent.
The cultural segment celebrates 150 years of the ‘Vande Mataram’. Around 2,500 artists from across India will performe folk, tribal, and classical dances. Odissi dance has been choreographed under the guidance of Guru Kavita Dwivedi, with 26 Odia artists contributing to the vibrant performance.
The 77th Republic Day thus will stand as a testament to
India’s unity in diversity, its march toward self-reliance, and the collective
spirit of its people.
