New Delhi, Dec 8: Union Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan
on Monday announced a landmark development during the 3rd India-Australia
Education and Skills Council (AIESC) meeting in New Delhi. Australia’s
University of New South Wales (UNSW), ranked among the world’s top 20 in the QS
World University Rankings, will establish a campus in India, he said.

Besides Minister Pradhan, the meeting was attended by
Australian Education Minister Jason Clare, Skills and Training Minister Andrew
Giles, Assistant Minister for International Education Julian Hill, along with
members of the Australian delegation. Union Minister of Skill Development and
Entrepreneurship Jayant Chaudhary also joined the discussions.
The high-level dialogue focused on expanding collaboration
in school education, higher education, research, and skill development,
reinforcing education as a central pillar of the India-Australia Strategic
Partnership.

Pradhan emphasized that the meeting built upon the progress
achieved since the inaugural AIESC, opening new avenues for India’s youth and
strengthening institutional ties. He highlighted the importance of preparing
students and professionals for critical and emerging sectors such as artificial
intelligence, advanced materials, semiconductors, MedTech, energy, and
sustainability.

The discussions also underscored joint efforts in early
childhood care, technology adoption, sports education, and teacher empowerment.
Both nations expressed commitment to innovative skilling partnerships that will

the way for deeper cooperation in the years ahead. He stressed that the bridges
