ECI Announces Assembly Election Dates
The Election Commission of India (ECI) announced the election schedule for four states and one Union Territory (UT) on Sunday. Assam and Kerala will vote in a single phase on April 9. The UT of Puducherry will go to the polls on April 9. In Tamil Nadu, the polls will be conducted in a single phase on April 23.For West Bengal, the polling will be held in two phases,April 23 & 29.Vote Counting Nationwide is Set for May 4

Domestic Carriers cancelled
Domestic carriers cancelled multiple flights to the Gulf region, especially to and from Dubai and Abu Dhabi destinations, owing to the UAE airport restrictions amid rising tensions in the region. Air India and Air India Express cancelled several flights to West Asia and IndiGo also suspended flights to Dubai.

CBSE cancels exams
The Central Board of Secondary Education has cancelled the Class 12 board examinations for students studying in several West Asian countries. The examinations scheduled from March 16 to April 10, 2026, for CBSE-affiliated schools located in Bahrain, Iran, Kuwait, Oman, Qatar, Saudi Arabia and the United Arab Emirates have been cancelled.

No Dual Gas Connection
Seeking to ensure a steady supply to domestic consumers exclusively availing liquefied petroleum gas, the government mandated that individuals with a piped natural gas connection will neither be allowed to obtain a new LPG connection nor retain an existing additional connection of liquefied petroleum gas.

The MotoGP has announced that the Qatar Grand Prix, originally set for April, will now be held from November 6-8 due to ongoing concerns regarding the geopolitical situation in the Middle East. The decision was made following consultations between the championship organisers, the Federation Internationale de Motocyclisme (FIM), the promoter, and local authorities in Qatar.
