Gautam Adani Pays Tribute To Women In His Family On International Women’s Day

Key Points
Ahmedabad, Mar 9: Marking International Women’s Day, Adani Group chairman Gautam Adani offered a deeply personal reflection on the women who have shaped his life, describing them as the “architects of my conscience.”
Writing on LinkedIn, Adani traced the influence of his
mother, wife, daughters-in-law, and granddaughters, acknowledging their
decisive role in shaping his values, outlook, and approach to nation-building.
Adani recalled his mother Shantaben’s stories from the
Ramayana, which instilled in him lessons of courage, sacrifice, and duty. He
reflected on the strength it must have taken for her to let him leave home at
the age of 16 to pursue an uncertain future in Mumbai. “Perhaps every Indian
mother carries a little of Kaushalya within her,” he wrote, invoking the quiet
resilience of Lord Rama’s mother.
He described his wife, Priti Adani, as the “keeper of my
conscience.” A trained dentist, she chose to dedicate her life to building the
Adani Foundation, which now operates across 22 states in India, touching more
than 10 million lives through initiatives in education, healthcare, sustainable
livelihoods, and community development.

Adani also praised his daughters-in-law for bringing fresh
perspectives into the family. Paridhi Adani, wife of elder son Karan, is a
lawyer whom he described as “thoughtful and sharp,” while Diva Adani, wife of
younger son Jeet, is a designer admired for her creativity and compassion,
particularly in her work with the specially-abled.
His three granddaughters, he said, are the “apples of his
eye,” whose curiosity reminds him of the simplicity of life and the
responsibility of building a future worthy of the next generation. “A man can
spend his life building ports, airports, power plants and businesses. But when
a granddaughter climbs onto his lap, everything becomes clear,” he reflected.
