Ladakh, Mar 24: According to the National Center for Seismology (NCS), an earthquake measuring 3.6 on the Richter scale hit Leh-Ladakh early Monday morning. The tremor occurred at 4:32:58 AM. The epicenter of the earthquake is said to be at 34.35 degrees north latitude and 78.06 degrees east longitude in Leh-Ladakh, at a depth of 10 kilometers.

Residents reported being jolted awake by the tremor, prompting people to rush outside their homes for safety. However, no reports of damage to property or loss of life have been received. Disaster management teams and authorities are closely surveying the situation and are prepared to handle any emergencies.

The region, being situated near the Himalayan Mountain Range, is considered seismically active. Experts state that while small tremors are common in this area, the possibility of a larger earthquake cannot be prevented.
