Strict Security for PM Modi’s Hyderabad Tour

Key Points

Cyberabad and Malkajgiri police have prohibited drones and para-gliders on May 10 as part of tight security for PM Modi’s Hyderabad visit, where he will inaugurate Sindhu Hospital and launch projects worth ₹9,400 crore.
Hyderabad, May 8: Hyderabad police have announced strict security measures ahead of Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s visit to Telangana on May 10, including a complete ban on drones, para-gliders, and remotely controlled micro-light aircraft. The orders were issued separately by Cyberabad Police Commissioner M. Ramesh and Malkajgiri Deputy Commissioner of Police CH Sridhar under Section 163 of the Bharatiya Nagarik Suraksha Sanhita.

According to the notifications, flying of drones or similar aerial devices will not be permitted within the jurisdiction of Madhapur Police Station under the Cyberabad Commissionerate. The restrictions are aimed at ensuring public safety during the Prime Minister’s inauguration of Sindhu Hospital in Hitech City. Officials warned that violations of the order would attract punishment under relevant legal provisions.

Similar prohibitory orders have been issued by Malkajgiri Police for areas under Begumpet, Bowenpally, and Marredpally Police Stations. These restrictions coincide with Modi’s scheduled public meeting at Parade Grounds in Begumpet, where large crowds are expected. Citizens have been urged to cooperate with the police and adhere to the restrictions for collective security.

This visit marks Prime Minister Modi’s first trip to Telangana after assuming office for a third consecutive term. During the visit, he will lay the foundation stone or dedicate projects worth about ₹9,400 crore to the nation. The projects include the Zaheerabad Integrated Industrial Smart City, the PM MITRA Mega Textile Park in Warangal, national highway expansion works, railway upgrades, and energy infrastructure initiatives.

The Bharatiya Janata Party is making elaborate arrangements for the public meeting, with plans to mobilize nearly two lakh people. Union Minister for Coal and Mines G. Kishan Reddy chaired a preparatory meeting at Gopanapalli in Sherlingampalli with BJP leaders and workers from Ranga Reddy district to finalize arrangements.

Officials emphasized that the drone ban is a precautionary measure, reflecting the seriousness of security arrangements for the Prime Minister’s visit. With large-scale public participation expected, police authorities are leaving no stone unturned to ensure safety and smooth conduct of the events.

The combination of strict aerial restrictions, massive public mobilization, and high-value project launches underscores the significance of Modi’s Hyderabad visit, both politically and developmentally.
