Mumbai, Sep 24: In a tragic incident that has sent shockwaves through the community, a Maharashtra teen was found hanging at his residence.
Reported from Nawargaon in Sindewahi taluka of Chandrapur district, Anurag Anil Borkar, a 19-year-old NEET UG qualifier, was found hanging on the very day he was scheduled to leave for medical college admission.
Anurag had recently cleared the NEET UG (National Eligibility-cum-Entrance Test) 2025 with an exceptional 99.99 percentile. He had secured an All India Rank of 1475 in the OBC category. His stellar performance had earned him a seat for the MBBS course at a college in Gorakhpur, Uttar Pradesh.
At a time when the family was preparing for his departure to start a new chapter in his career, the family members were left with their child’s lifeless body.

Once finding out about the tragedy, the family notified the police, who rushed to the scene. During the preliminary investigation, police recovered a suicide note.
While the officials have not released the contents of the note, police sources, although off the record, indicated a heartbreaking revelation. Anurag had written that he “did not wish to become a doctor”.
Anurag's passing has left his family and the local community in a state of grief and disbelief. The police have registered a case and are conducting a thorough investigation.
