Nandigram, MAR 29: Union Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan visited Nandigram in West Bengal on Sunday, energizing Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) workers in the politically sensitive constituency represented by Leader of Opposition Suvendu Adhikari. During his interaction with local cadres, Pradhan described Nandigram not merely as an Assembly constituency but as a powerful symbol of change in the state’s political landscape. He expressed confidence that the people of Nandigram continue to place their trust in the BJP and in Adhikari’s leadership.

Pradhan praised the discipline, zeal, and dedication of party workers, noting that their energy clearly signals the BJP’s readiness to secure victory once again in Nandigram. He emphasized unity and determination, urging workers to carry forward the momentum and strengthen grassroots connections with the electorate. His visit is being seen as a morale booster for the BJP cadre in Purba Medinipur district, reinforcing the party’s strategy to expand its footprint across West Bengal ahead of the 2026 Assembly elections.

Nandigram has long been a focal point in Bengal politics, gaining prominence during the land acquisition protests more than a decade ago. The constituency drew national attention during the 2021 Assembly polls when Suvendu Adhikari, after switching from the Trinamool Congress (TMC) to BJP, defeated then Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee in a closely contested battle. Since then, Nandigram has remained a key battleground, with both BJP and TMC intensifying their campaigns in the region.

The BJP has already announced Adhikari as its candidate from Nandigram as well as Bhabanipur in Kolkata, directly challenging the ruling TMC leadership. Meanwhile, the TMC has fielded a former close aide of Adhikari against him in Nandigram, setting the stage for another high-stakes contest.

Pradhan’s message of confidence and solidarity is expected to further energize BJP’s ground-level campaign. Local leaders and workers welcomed him warmly, pledging full support for the party’s vision of development and change. With political activities heating up, Nandigram once again stands at the center of West Bengal’s electoral battle.
