The session, held as part of the New Delhi World Book Fair 2026, witnessed budding writers presenting brief outlines of their manuscripts being developed during the six-month mentorship programme.
Congratulating the authors, Pradhan urged them to utilise the mentorship period to produce impactful works that inspire India’s youth to read, write, and engage with knowledge. He emphasised the importance of access to research material, directing the National Book Trust (NBT) to facilitate both physical and digital resources. He also highlighted the ‘One Nation, One Subscription’ initiative, ensuring that the authors benefit from wider academic resources.
To further strengthen their research support, Pradhan
suggested affiliating the selected authors with central universities in their
regions. He noted that the diversity among the authors reflected India’s
cultural richness, with manuscripts covering themes such as the contribution of
the Indian diaspora in nation-building, the Indian Knowledge System, and Makers
of Modern India.
