New Delhi, Feb 1: Union Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan on Sunday lauded the Union Budget 2026–27 as a “solid blueprint” for harnessing India’s growth potential and achieving the vision of ‘Viksit Bharat’. He said the budget, presented by Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, is futuristic, youth-driven, pro-people, and employment-oriented.
In a post on X, Pradhan congratulated the Prime Minister and
Finance Minister for delivering a budget that emphasises people’s well-being
and brings cheer to poor and middle-class households. He noted that the budget
is designed to foster inclusive development across all sections of society,
while accelerating economic growth and building capacities for the future.
Pradhan highlighted the inspiration drawn from the
government’s three Kartavya — accelerating and sustaining growth, fulfilling
aspirations, and ensuring access to resources and opportunities for every
family and community. He said the #ViksitBharatBudget will spur all-round
growth across sectors, promote self-reliance in strategic and frontier areas,
and facilitate ease of living.
The Minister pointed out that the budget will invigorate
education, innovation, and skilling, strengthen MSMEs, boost tourism, augment
healthcare, and transform tier-II and tier-III cities into new growth centres.
He added that it will increase household purchasing power, ensure more money in
people’s pockets, and add momentum to the “Reform Express” for India’s next
phase of growth.

According to Pradhan, the Union Budget 2026-27 ensures that
economic progress translates into tangible gains for over 140 crore citizens,
reiterating the government’s commitment to inclusive and sustainable
development.
Notably, Sitharaman made history today as she presented
her ninth consecutive Union Budget, becoming the first Finance Minister in
India to achieve this milestone.
Terming the budget Yuva Shakti-driven, the Finance Minister highlighted substantial strides in poverty reduction and improvement in the lives of country’s people. She said, this year’s budget is inspired by three Kartavya of accelerating economic growth, to build capacity of the people and to provide resources, amenities and opportunities to every family, community, region and sector.
