New Delhi, Apr 6: Union Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan and other senior BJP leaders on Monday extended greetings to party workers on the Foundation Day of the Bharatiya Janata Party, highlighting its nationalist ethos, development agenda and commitment to citizen welfare.

The leaders underscored the party’s evolution from its ideological roots under Syama Prasad Mukherjee and Deendayal Upadhyaya to its current status as the world’s largest political organisation.

‘Symbol of Public Trust’
Extending wishes, Pradhan said, “This day is an opportunity to pay tribute to those great leaders whose service, dedication and principles transformed the organisation into a symbol of public faith.”
He added, “The tireless efforts and sacrifices of our committed workers, who have carried the party’s ideology to every village, are its real strength. Under the guidance of the Prime Minister, crores of workers are dedicated to uplifting every section of society with the mantra of ‘Antyodaya’ and contributing to building a ‘Viksit Bharat’.”

‘Nation First’ Ideology Reaffirmed
Union Home Minister Amit Shah, in a post on X, said, “Heartfelt greetings to all BJP workers on the foundation day dedicated to the resolve of Nation First above all. The establishment of the BJP was not merely a political event, but a pledge for national reconstruction.”
He added that under the leadership of PM Narendra Modi, the party has realised the vision of “Sabka Saath, Sabka Vikas, Sabka Vishwas.”

Tribute to Founders and Workers
BJP president JP Nadda said, “On the Foundation Day of the world’s largest political organisation, I extend heartfelt congratulations to all dedicated workers.”

Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath said the BJP represents more than a political structure.

“It is a vibrant ideological tradition inspired by Deendayal Upadhyaya, Syama Prasad Mukherjee and Bharat Ratna Atal Bihari Vajpayee, rooted in democratic and cultural values,” he said.
He added, “The BJP’s journey is not of power, but of values — not expansion, but ideology — fulfilling the resolve of ‘Antyodaya to Rashtrodaya’.”

From Jana Sangh to Global Force
The BJP was established in 1980 following a split from the Janata Party, with its ideological roots in the Bharatiya Jana Sangh founded in 1951.
