Price Hike / Commercial LPG, ATF Prices Hiked from October 1

Key Points
Commercial LPG and ATF prices surged again as OMCs raised rates by ₹62.50 per cylinder and ₹16 per litre, adding pressure on airlines and businesses while domestic LPG remains unchanged.
New Delhi, Oct 1: Fuel costs are set to rise again as state‑owned oil marketing companies (OMCs) announced significant price hikes on Thursday, increasing 19‑kg commercial LPG cylinders by ₹62.50 and aviation turbine fuel (ATF) by ₹16 per litre.
ATF prices for domestic airlines now stand at ₹137 per litre, up from ₹121. The latest hike follows consecutive increases of ₹6.28 per litre in September and ₹5 per litre in August.
With ATF accounting for nearly 40 per cent of an airline’s operating costs, the surge is expected to significantly impact carriers’ expenses.

✨Commercial LPG prices have also seen sharp fluctuations in recent months. After a ₹9.50 increase in September, rates had earlier been cut by ₹192 in August and ₹183.50 in July.
Prices had surged to a record high in June amid global energy supply disruptions, rising by ₹1,373 per cylinder between February and June — from ₹1,740.50 to ₹3,113.50 — before easing in subsequent months.
Domestic LPG prices, however, remain unchanged at ₹942 per cylinder. Between March and June, these cylinders had risen by ₹89 due to supply disruptions linked to the West Asia crisis and elevated international energy prices.
Fuel revisions are carried out on the first day of each month and vary across states depending on local taxes such as VAT. Petrol and diesel prices, last increased in May, remain unchanged.
