New Delhi/Bhubaneswar, Feb 1: Union Minister Dharmendra Pradhan termed the Union Budget, presented by Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman in Parliament today, as a historic, futuristic, and balanced budget for the Viksit Bharat.

Pradhan said the Budget will meet all needs from the birth of a child to high-level research, skill develomen, and human capital growth.

"The entire country has welcomed the Union Budget. Under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman has presented a dedicated budget for the welfare of the poor, women, farmers, youth, middle-class, and the deprived. This Budget will take forward the Viksit Bharat resolution to a new height," Pradhan told a Presser in New Delhi.

He said the Budget would work to translate the 'Sabka Sath, Sabka Vikash' resolution into reality. He thanked the Prime Minister and the Finance Minister for the budget meant to empower people of all categories.

Especially welcoming the announcement of "no income tax" up to the earning of Rs 12 lakh, Pradhan said, "This is a big gift from Modi to the middle class."

Pradhan viewed the budget will increase the income of farmers and create new opportunities for women entrepreneurs. He said the budget will help increase capital expenditure, bolster investment, and drive infrastructure development on a new path.

The Budget will cause further development in the education, skill development and research sectors, he said.
