BJP Spokesperson Sambit Patra Slams Rahul Gandhi Over National Herald Case, Boston Remarks

Bhubaneswar/New Delhi, Apr 21: Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) Spokesperson Sambit Patra slammed Congress leader Rahul Gandhi over his remarks during a discussion at a university in Boston, USA.
Patra, MP from Puri, accused Gandhi of tarnishing India's image on foreign soil, calling it an "old habit" of the Congress leader. Patra further alleged that Gandhi's comments were an attempt to deflect attention from the Enforcement Directorate's (ED) ongoing investigation into the National Herald case, which implicates both Rahul Gandhi and his mother, Sonia Gandhi.
Addressing the Indian diaspora, Gandhi alleged that the Election Commission of India (ECI) was "compromised" and raised concerns about irregularities in the Maharashtra Assembly elections. He claimed that voter turnout figures were inflated, citing an alleged addition of 65 lakh votes within two hours, which he deemed "physically impossible."
Patra, responding to Gandhi’s claims, stated: "Rahul Gandhi and Sonia Gandhi are out on bail in the National Herald case. Their attempts to undermine India's democratic institutions will not absolve them of their alleged crimes."
The BJP also criticised the Congress party for creating an "atmosphere of unrest" in the country, accusing them of using press conferences and public statements to mislead the public.
