Nagaon (Assam), July 9: Officials have said that as many as 137 wild animals, including six Rhinos, have died in the devastating Assam flood at Kaziranga National Park.
The park authorities have reportedly managed to rescue 99 animals, including two Rhino calves, and an identical number of Elephant calves.
As many as "104 Hog Deers, 6 Rhinos, and 2 Sambars died after drowning in flood waters," said Sonali Ghosh, field director of Kaziranga National Park, adding that 2 Hog Deers died after a vehicle hit them, one Otter (pup) died due to other reasons, while 22 animals died under care.

✨"So far we have rescued 99 animals including two rhinos, two elephants, 84 Hog Deer, 3 Swamp Deer, 2 Samber," Ghosh said. A total of 70 forest camps out of 233 in the park are still underwater.
