Tribute / Armed Forces Flag Day: Honouring India’s Bravehearts And Women Warriors

Key Points
New Delhi, Dec 7: Since 1949, every year December 7 is observed as the Armed Forces Flag Day - a day dedicated to honouring the courage, sacrifices, and firm commitment of the Indian Army, Navy, and Air Force.
While the day pays tribute to every brave soul in uniform, it is also a moment to acknowledge a rising force — India’s women warriors.

But today, they are fighter pilots, warship commanders, corps of engineers, peacekeepers, and front-line leaders. Their involvement in combat and leading positions is a move toward gender inclusivity and having a modern military.
