Sukma, Sept 2: Three active Maoist militia members were arrested near Pentapad village under Chintagufa police station limits in Sukma district, bordering Odisha’s Malkangiri.
The individuals were identified as Podiyam Joga (25), Madvi Masa (25) and Pojja Madvi (29).
According to reports, the arrests were made during a joint operation conducted by the Chhattisgarh District Police and the 50th Battalion of the Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF).

A huge cache of explosives was also seized from the trio, including- one tiffin bomb weighing approximately 3 kilograms, five electric detonators, five gelatin rods, five meters of cordtex wire, electric wire, four pencil cells.
During interrogation, the accused also confessed that the explosives were intended for use in attacks against security forces.
A case has been registered and the arrested Maoists were produced before a Special Court.
