Patiala, Sep 3: Punjab Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) MLA Harmeet Singh Dhillon, popularly known as Pathanmanjra, escaped police custody on Tuesday during a violent confrontation in Dabri village, Karnal district of Haryana.

Dhillon, who represents the Sanour Assembly constituency, was being arrested on serious charges of rape and cheating. However, the arrest operation spiralled into chaos when his followers allegedly launched a violent attack on the police team.

Eyewitnesses reported that stones were hurled and shots were fired, creating a volatile situation that allowed the MLA to flee the scene.

According to reports, the police intercepted the vehicle, which was used to facilitate Dhillon’s escape, leading to the arrest of an accomplice identified as Balbindar Singh. Authorities recovered three firearms from his possession. However, Dhillon succeeded in his quest to escape.

The Punjab Police have launched a large-scale manhunt to locate the absconding legislator. As the search intensifies, the spotlight remains firmly on the unfolding saga of a politician who now finds himself at the centre of one of Punjab’s most sensational criminal investigations.
