New Delhi, May 12: In a decisive counterterrorism operation, the Indian Army has eliminated over 100 terrorists and destroyed nine major terror camps in Pakistan and Pakistan-occupied Kashmir (PoK) under Operation Sindoor.

The offensive comes in retaliation for the Pahalgam terror attack, which claimed 26 civilian lives last month. According to the Director General of Military Operations (DGMO) Lt Gen Rajiv Ghai, the operation successfully neutralized three high-profile terrorist commanders—Mudasir Khas, Hafiz Jamil, and Yusuf Azhar.

Indian forces executed precision strikes on terrorist hideouts, leading to widespread panic among terror operatives. Intelligence reports confirm that many terrorists fled their camps in fear, anticipating the imminent attack.

The operation was coordinated with the Indian Navy and Air Force, which launched strategic airstrikes on terror hubs while maintaining combat readiness in the Arabian Sea.

In addition to the terrorist casualties, Pakistan reportedly suffered significant losses, with 35-40 military personnel killed in cross-border engagements between May 7 and May 10.

Union Minister Dharmendra Pradhan reaffirmed India’s zero-tolerance policy on terrorism, stating that the operation sends a strong message to those who harbor and support terror networks.

With Operation Sindoor, India has showcased its ability to carry out highly coordinated, strategic military action against terrorism. The government has indicated that similar counterterror strikes will be conducted as necessary to ensure national security.
