Puri, Apr 16: At a time when the management of devotees vis-a-vis smooth Darshan of the Shreemandir deities remains a matter of concern, noncompliance of a Supreme Court order asking for fixing of Mahaprasad rate chart at Anand Bazaar in Shrimandir premises, after six years of its issuance, has anguished devotees.
Even though Suar Mahasura Nijog has demanded the fixing of the Mahaprasad rate chart many times, and preparations were made for some time, the price list is yet to come up.
"The Shree Jagannath Temple Administration (SJTA) has failed to come up with a price chart of different Mahaprasad items. As a result, devotees are being charged heavy prices," alleged a devotee.
According to the information, in 2019, the Supreme Court issued 22 guidelines to bring reforms to the 12th-century Hindu shrine. Among the guidelines, the Mahaprasad rate chart was considered the most important one as it was meant to relieve devotees from spending much.

"As many five chief administrators have been transferred by now. However, the rate chart has not been prepared yet. Devotees are being charged prices at wish," alleged Narayan Mahasuar, secretary of the Suar and Mahasura Nijog.
Mahasuar demanded that the Supreme Court advisory be implemented without any delay.
