According to the Muscatine Police Department, officers were dispatched at around 12:12 pm on Monday following reports of a shooting at a residence on Park Avenue in the city of Muscatine.
Upon arrival, police officers and emergency responders found four individuals suffering from gunshot wounds inside the residence. All four victims were pronounced dead at the scene.
Police identified the suspected shooter as 52-year-old Ryan Willis McFarland of Muscatine, who had left the residence before officers arrived.
Suspect Found Dead
A short time later, law enforcement personnel located McFarland near a pedestrian bridge with what authorities described as a self-inflicted gunshot wound.
Officers and paramedics attempted to provide emergency medical assistance, but he was pronounced dead at the scene.
As investigators continued their probe, they discovered two additional victims at separate locations connected to the case.
One man was found dead from an apparent gunshot wound at a residence on Mill Street, while another victim was located at a nearby business on Grandview Avenue.

Family Members Among Victims
Police said preliminary findings suggest the shootings were linked to a domestic-related dispute, with all the victims believed to be family members of the suspect.
