Bhubaneswar, Sep 4: A viral video from Australia has ignited widespread discussion after an Indian man was allegedly booed and interrupted while speaking at an anti-immigration protest.

The video footage, shared by Instagram user “australian.guard,” captures the tense moment during the “March for Australia” rally, where thousands of people gathered to voice concerns over immigration policies.

The video shows that an Australian host introducing the speaker: “Our next guest is a foreigner. He looks like a foreigner. And he said he wanted to speak… He’s just like me, he became a citizen.” As the Indian man steps up, the crowd erupts in boos.

Undeterred, the man begins his speech by acknowledging the hostility. “Yes, I am a brown man. Yes, I am an immigrant from India. I came here for the right reasons,” he says. He goes on to argue that immigration should be about contributing to society, not demanding concessions. “Immigration is about not taking but giving. Not demanding but respecting,” he says. “What I see happening today is not immigration. It’s an open-door policy.”

As his remarks continue, the crowd grows more agitated. Suddenly, an Australian protester storms the stage, grabs the microphone, and heckles him, cutting the speech short and triggering more chaos.

The video has garnered millions of views and triggered mixed reactions on social media.

Some netizens praised the man’s courage and message, while others expressed frustration over rising immigration. One user wrote, “He was saying all the right things… but too many refuse to assimilate.” Another commented, “This man was making sense. But the situation has gone too far.”

The incident highlights growing tensions in Australia over immigration, particularly concerning the Indian community, which has seen a sharp rise in numbers since 2020. While some Australians call for stricter policies, others emphasize the importance of integration and mutual respect.
