Odisha reschedules OTET exam to July 5, avoiding clash with RI and Amin tests on June 28. Authorities aim to ease logistics and ensure smooth conduct for thousands of candidates.

Bhubaneswar, Jun 23: The Odisha Teacher Eligibility Test (OTET) has once again been rescheduled to avoid a clash with other major recruitment examinations.

Initially slated for June 21, the OTET was postponed to June 28. However, with the Revenue Inspector (RI) and Amin examinations, conducted by the OSSSC (Odisha Sub-ordinate Staff Selection Commission), already scheduled on the same day, authorities have now shifted the OTET to July 5, 2026.

Revenue and Disaster Management Minister Suresh Pujari confirmed that the RI and Amin examinations will go ahead as planned on June 28.

To prevent logistical challenges and confusion among candidates, the School and Mass Education Department, in consultation with the Board of Secondary Education (BSE), decided to move the OTET to a later date.

According to the revised schedule, OTET Paper-I will be conducted from 9:00 AM to 11:30 AM, while Paper-II will take place from 2:00 PM to 4:30 PM on July 5. The BSE has issued an official notification regarding the change, ensuring candidates have clarity well in advance.

The RI and Amin examinations, which will be held on June 28, are expected to see participation from nearly 16,000 candidates across Odisha.

Minister Pujari emphasized that holding multiple large-scale exams on the same day would have created unnecessary strain on exam centres and administration, hence the decision to stagger the schedules.

This is the second time the OTET has been rescheduled in recent weeks, reflecting the authorities’ efforts to balance examination logistics and candidate convenience.

The move is expected to ease pressure on both exam organizers and aspirants, ensuring smooth conduct of all tests.

With the new dates finalized, candidates preparing for OTET now have an additional week to revise and strengthen their preparation. The state government has assured that all necessary arrangements will be made to conduct the examinations fairly and efficiently.
