New Delhi, Apr 15: The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) has declared the Class 10 Board Examination 2026 results today, April 15, 2026. With over 25 lakh students appearing for the exams conducted between February 17 and March 11, the overall pass percentage has been recorded at an impressive 93.70 per cent.
Girls once again outshone boys, achieving a pass percentage of 94.99 per cent compared to 92.69 percent for boys. A total of 2,21,574 students (8.96 percent) scored above 90 percent, while 55,364 students (2.24 per cent) secured more than 95 percent marks. Region-wise, Trivandrum and Vijayawada topped the charts with a pass percentage of 99.79 per cent. Students can check and download their results from official websites, including cbse.gov.in and results.cbse.nic.in, as well as through DigiLocker, UMANG app, SMS, and IVRS services.
This year’s results also mark the implementation of CBSE’s new Two Board Examination policy, introduced in line with the National Education Policy (NEP) 2020. Under this system, students are given the opportunity to improve their performance in up to three subjects during a second board examination scheduled for May 2026.

Eligibility for the second exam requires students to have appeared in at least three subjects in the first exam. Passed students can opt for improvement in Science, Mathematics, Social Sciences, or languages. Those placed in the Compartment category are also eligible to reappear. However, students who failed in three or more subjects or did not appear in three or more subjects in the first exam are not eligible.
The board has clarified that no subject changes or corrections in student data will be allowed between the first and second exams. Students appearing for the second exam must pay an examination fee of ₹320 per subject, amounting to ₹960 for three subjects.
With the first exam results now declared, students have the option to evaluate their performance and decide whether to appear for the second board exam to improve their scores.
