Berhampur, Feb 14: The Berhampur Univesity will organise an inter-university competition from February 19 to 24. Almost all government universities of Odisha will participate in the six-day event.

Addressing a Press conference, University Vice-Chancellor Prof Gitanjali Das said 16 of 18 government universities have already given consent to join.

"As per the directions of the Higher Education Department, all Odisha government universities have been asked to participate in the event. Out of 18 public universities, 16 universities have confirmed their participation," said the V-C.

The Berhampur University has written letters to the Registrars of all universities, suggesting participation of a maximum of 40 officials and teams from each university. "It is expected that 600-700 officials/team managers will participate in events. Competition will be held on a total of 16 events," said Prof Das.

She said a 20-member committee has been formed to oversee the programme implementation. The Vice-Chancellor said accommodation has been arranged for 300 participants at Gopalpur.

In the campus, three venues have been identified for the conduct of the event, namely, Sports Ground, Biju Patnaik Auditorium and New Conference Hall.

Reputed academicians and professionals have consented to be jury members for the events.
