Bhubaneswar, Aug 17: The kidnapping case of Balangir businessman Narendra Sahu alias Gunda has taken a dramatic turn with police expanding their investigation and making fresh arrests.
On Sunday, Balangir police apprehended two more individuals from Bhubaneswar — Sub-Inspector Sneha Manjari Sahu and journalist Sanjay Jena.
According to police sources, Sneha Manjari Sahu is the sister of the prime accused, Kshitij Sahu. Evidence suggests that both the SI and the journalist played crucial roles in the abduction, with proof now in the hands of investigators.

Following their arrest, they were taken to Balangir for further interrogation.
Meanwhile, police raided the private hotel where mastermind Kshitis frequently stayed, seizing the CCTV hard disk for examination. Kshitij, along with his associate Sanjit Behera, is being produced in court today.
The abduction occurred on August 14 when Narendra Sahu was forcibly taken from National Highway 57 near Balangir-Sonepur road. He was later rescued by Khordha police on August 15 and handed over to Balangir authorities.

The seriousness of the case prompted Northern Range IG Himanshu Lal to personally review the investigation at Balangir SP office on Sunday evening.
After interrogating both complainants and accused, the IG stated, “The kidnapping was linked to financial dealings. Whether it was specifically related to Hanuman money transactions is still under investigation.”
He assured that no one involved will be spared and all accused will be arrested. Police have already handed over rescued businessman Narendra to his family. In his statement, Narendra said he does not recognize the prime accused Kshitij.
The case has exposed disturbing links between law enforcement personnel, media professionals, and organized crime, raising serious questions about corruption and collusion.
