Bhograi, Jun 24: A shocking incident has surfaced in Komarda police station limits of Bhograi, where a tuition teacher has been accused of sexually assaulting an eighth‑grade minor girl.

The accused, identified as Anil Kumar Sahoo, had been working as a Gaon Sathi (village volunteer) while also conducting tuition classes for local children.

According to the complaint filed by the victim’s family, the incident occurred during a tuition session. Sahoo allegedly called the girl into a separate room under the pretext of applying medicine for a headache.

After sending her to fetch water, he reportedly locked the room upon her return and committed the crime. The family lodged a formal complaint with Komarda police, leading to immediate action.

Police detained Sahoo from his residence and began interrogation. He had been teaching village children for several years, which made the allegations even more disturbing.

The incident has sparked outrage among villagers, who expressed anger over the betrayal of trust by someone regarded as a teacher and mentor.

The case has created widespread shock in the region, with locals demanding strict action under the Protection of Children from Sexual Offences (POCSO) Act. Authorities have assured that a thorough investigation is underway and that the truth will be established through proper legal procedures.
