Jamui, Sep 21: Two Class-X students were allegedly harassed and assaulted by a group of men while returning from a coaching class in Bihar’s Jamui city on Saturday evening, with a video of the incident later circulating on social media.

The minor boy and girl had reportedly visited Madwa Pahad, a popular hill destination in the city. While returning on a scooter, they were allegedly stopped by a group of men, abused and forced to get off the vehicle.

The group allegedly assaulted and harassed the two minors and chased them when they attempted to flee. One of the men recorded the incident on a mobile phone, and the video was subsequently circulated on social media.

Minors Allegedly Forced To Apologise
According to the video, one of the men can be seen grabbing the boy by his shirt collar and attempting to pull him towards himself. The boy, with the girl’s assistance, managed to break free before the two tried to escape.

The video also shows another man allegedly grabbing the girl by the neck and lifting her off the ground. The boy intervened and prevented him from taking her away. During the altercation, the girl was also allegedly subjected to inappropriate physical contact.

As the two attempted to leave on their scooter, one of the men allegedly pulled the girl by her hand while another continued recording the incident.

The group also allegedly forced the minors to apologise. The girl can be heard pleading with the men to let them go and promising that they would not return to the place.

The group eventually allowed the two to leave.

Police Begin Probe, Search For Accused
Police took cognisance of the incident after the video surfaced on social media and began an investigation.

A senior police officer confirmed the incident and the existence of the video, saying the process of registering an FIR had been initiated.

Police have spoken to both minors and are collecting information about the people involved based on their statements. Investigators are working to identify the accused and establish the individual roles of those present during the incident.

Police are also examining the circumstances surrounding the incident and other details related to the video. Efforts to trace the accused are underway.
