Baripada, Sep 13: A woman was allegedly killed after her throat was slit with a sharp weapon in broad daylight at Bagdihi Chhak in Baripada of Odisha’s Mayurbhanj district on Sunday, with police taking a man into custody in connection with the incident.

According to a source, the woman had gone to meet the man when she was allegedly attacked on the busy road. She suffered critical injuries and died at the spot due to profuse bleeding.

Police reached the scene after being alerted about the incident and detained the accused. The identity of the deceased has not yet been officially disclosed.
