Debagarh police organized a mobile return camp where 12 citizens received their long-lost phones, sparking joy and appreciation for the police’s efforts to restore public trust.
Deogarh, Apr 26: Deogarh district police have successfully returned lost mobile phones to their rightful owners in a special initiative aimed at strengthening public trust. On Sunday, a Mobile Return Camp was organized at the Deogarh Reserve Police Office, where 12 individuals were reunited with their devices after months of waiting.

According to officials, a total of 60 complaints regarding missing mobile phones had been registered across Deogarh district. Acting on these reports, police teams managed to recover 25 phones from within Odisha and even from outside the state. After verifying ownership, citizens were informed about the recovery, and 12 of them attended the camp to collect their devices.

The event was attended by Deogarh Superintendent of Police Anil Kumar Mishra, who personally handed over the phones to the owners. He emphasized that such initiatives not only help citizens regain valuable possessions but also build confidence in law enforcement. “Other recovered mobiles will also be returned to their owners soon. This effort will strengthen people’s trust in the police,” Mishra said.

The atmosphere at the camp was filled with excitement and gratitude. Many citizens expressed their appreciation for the police’s dedication. Pankaj Agrawal from Bargarh, one of the recipients, said, “I had lost hope of ever getting my mobile back. Thanks to the police, I am very happy to have it returned.”

The initiative highlights the police’s commitment to community service beyond crime prevention. By focusing on recovering lost property, the Deogarh police have demonstrated their responsiveness to public grievances and their ability to deliver results.

Mobile phones, often containing personal data, contacts, and financial information, are critical for daily life. Their loss can cause significant inconvenience and distress. The recovery and return of these devices not only restore convenience but also reassure citizens that their concerns are taken seriously.

The Deogarh police plan to continue similar efforts in the future, ensuring that more citizens benefit from the recovery of lost property. Such proactive measures are expected to enhance the relationship between the police and the public, fostering cooperation and mutual trust.

This initiative stands as a reminder that effective policing is not only about law enforcement but also about community engagement and service.
