Faisal Khan, popularly known as Khan Sir, surrendered before Patna Civil Court after his guards confessed to firing shots on his orders during a violent clash with a rival coaching centre. He faces charges under attempted murder and the Arms Act, marking a dramatic turn in Patna’s coaching rivalry matter.
Patna/Bihar, June 6: Patna witnessed high drama today as Faisal Khan, popularly known as Khan Sir, surrendered before the Patna Civil Court in connection with the June 2 firing incident at his Khan Global Studies (KGS) institute. The educator, widely followed on YouTube and known for his low-fee coaching model, faced charges under attempted murder and the Arms Act after his guards confessed to firing shots on his instructions during a clash with a rival coaching centre.

The incident unfolded when nearly 20 individuals allegedly linked to Gyan Bindu Coaching, run by Roshan Anand, attacked KGS by pelting stones, vandalising property, and injuring a security guard. While police initially treated the case as assault and vandalism, the situation escalated after two of Khan’s private guards, Pradeep and Taleshwar, were caught on video firing shots into the air. Arrested on June 4, the guards later confessed that they acted on Khan’s direct orders, stating he assured them he would “handle the consequences.”

Following these revelations, police registered an FIR against Khan on June 5, charging him with abetment to attempted murder under Section 109 of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita and violations of the Arms Act. The District Investigation Unit intensified its search after Khan went missing from his institute on Friday, sparking speculation about his surrender.

Khan’s institute, located in Musallahpur Hat, Patna, has gained immense popularity for producing strong results in competitive exams, including the Bihar Police Constable recruitment. This success reportedly fueled rivalries among coaching centres, often described locally as “coaching mafia” battles. The surrender marks a turning point in the case, which has drawn attention to the growing tensions in Patna’s booming coaching industry.

Khan had earlier defended himself in a video statement, claiming the firing was in self-defence against an attacking mob. However, police investigations found no evidence of firing from the attackers, shifting focus squarely onto Khan and his guards. His surrender today sets the stage for a crucial legal battle that could reshape the narrative around Patna’s coaching wars.
