A woman was allegedly gang r*ped inside a moving bus in Delhi's Nangloi area,
stocking fresh concerns over women's safety in the national capital.
Police have arrested two accused in connection with the incident and further investigation is underway.The two accused the driver and conductor have been arrested in the case today.
According to sources, the survivor, a resident of a slum cluster who was employed at a factory in Mangolpuri, was walking home after work when she approached a sleeper bus parked at Saraswati Vihar to ask for the time.
According to police, the incident took place late at night when the woman boarded a private bus in outer Delhi. The accused allegedly sexually assaulted her while the vehicle was moving through many thoroughfares of the capital.
The woman later approached the police and lodged a complaint, following which a case was registered. Acting swiftly,police teams tracked down and arrested the two suspects within hours of the complaint. Officials said CCTV footage and technical surveillance helped identify the accused. The bus involved in the crime has also been seized for forensic examination.Authorities have assured that strict action will be taken against the accused.
