Key Points

Apple India hits record $9 billion in FY 2024–25, up 13% from last year.

Two new stores opened in Bengaluru and Pune; more planned in Noida and Mumbai. One in five iPhones now made in India, reducing reliance on China.

New Delhi, Sep 6: Apple Inc. has reached a major milestone in India, recording an all-time high annual revenue of nearly $9 billion in the financial year 2024–25.

This marks a 13% year-on-year growth from the previous fiscal, driven primarily by strong demand for iPhones and MacBooks.

The tech giant’s aggressive retail expansion strategy has played a key role in this success. Apple recently inaugurated two new stores — Apple Hebbal in Bengaluru and Apple Koregaon Park in Pune, bringing its total number of official stores in India to four. Plans are underway to open additional outlets in Noida and Mumbai by 2026.

India is not just a booming consumer market for Apple — it’s also becoming a strategic manufacturing hub. Currently, one in every five iPhones is produced in India, spread across five factories, including two newly launched plants. This shift is part of Apple’s broader strategy to reduce its dependence on China amid global supply chain uncertainties.

Apple’s market share in India has climbed to 7%, supported by initiatives like student discounts, trade-in programs, and bank partnerships. The company’s performance in India stands out especially as global mobile device sales plateau, making the country one of Apple’s fastest-growing markets.

With India now ranking as Apple’s fourth-largest market globally, after the US, China, and Japan, the company’s long-term commitment to the region is clear. Analysts expect Apple’s footprint in India to expand further, both in terms of retail presence and local production.
