It slapped a fine of Rs 2,000 on a traffic constable here for not wearing a mask, informed the Puri SP on Tuesday.
“On being brought to our notice, we have fined our own Traffic constable Rs 2000 for not wearing mask. And he, as a responsible citizen has paid. Wear Mask always; Or Pay the fine. There is no alternative,” Puri Police tweeted.

On Friday, Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik announced a 14-day ‘Mask Abhiyan’ (mask-wearing campaign) in order to contain the possible spread of Coronavirus in the State.
“Masks are the most efficient shield in battle against the Coronavirus pandemic. People who are yet to take vaccines must put on masks where as people who have taken the vaccine should also wear masks,” the Chief Minister had said.
