The members have been protesting alleged Government apathy to the island area under the Niali block. They insist that their 14 demands are fulfilled at the earliest. The demands include construction of roads, supply of drinking water, appointment of teachers against vacant seats in schools and opening of a Government hospital in the area.
Latest reports said Tehsildra Bidyadhar Pati talked to the agitators but the agitators remained unmoved, insisting that they will withdraw the fast agitation only after fulfilment of their demands.
