As per the report, the victim identified as Bishnu Charan Biswal who is living with his family in the village for past couple of years had installed a bamboo fencing to demarcate the boundary a piece of land owned by him. However, soon after the completion of the panchayat poll, a group of influential people started pressuring him to remove the fencing by staking him claim on the land.
Yesterday, Prakash Biswal, the husband of newly-elected Sarpanch of Khadalapokhari panchayat accompanied by a group of aides reached Bishnu’s house and removed the fencing forcibly.
As the victim’s family members showed some resistance, the intruders attacked them with iron rods, sticks and wooden plank.
Bishnu’s son Sudhanshu, his wife Hiramani and two children sustained injuries in the attack and were initially prevented from being rushed to hospital by the perpetrators of violence.
They were taken to medical after Prakash and his aides left the spot.
An investigation was launched by police later on based on Bishnu’s complaint.
