Bhubaneswar, Oct 2: In a sharp reaction to Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik's 'Jana Birodhi (anti-people)' remark against opposition parties, Lead of Opposition Jayanarayan Mishra on Monday said there is no 'anti-people' person other than Naveen Patnaik in Odisha.
"During the last 23 years, Naveen Patnaik has made Odisha a backward State. We (Odisha) lag behind in infrastructure and stand first in poverty and violence against women. There is no situation like law and order in the State. Primary education and health are very poor," alleged the Leader of the Opposition.
Mishra said Naveen Babu, before terming as anti-people, should think that he was anti-people of the highest degree.
"Han not been he an anti-people person, he would have never leased out his government to an IAS officer," he contended.
While a desert State like Gujarat has reached the pinnacle in infrastructural development, we (Odisha) are being compared to States like Bihar and Chhattisgarh, Mishra lamented.
He said the Chief Minister had given a careless remark on opposition parties. He dared the Chief Minister to substantiate his allegation that we misled people.
"We are talking good of him. He is only a hit stain for Odisha. We want him to refrain. We pray the lord gives him a long life, " he said, adding, " Naveen Babu is worried now for his Karma (work). He has been impatient."
