Pooja Hegde, who has become one of the most popular heroines in recent times, has appeared in a role that is essentially an extended cameo.
Hyderabad, April 14: 'Beast,' starring Vijay and Pooja Hegde was released on Wednesday. Pooja Hegde, who has become one of the most popular heroines in recent times, has appeared in a role that is essentially an extended cameo.
Apart from one song in the first half, she doesn't have much of an impact, which has upset her slowly increasing fandom.
Starring Vijay as the lead, Pooja's role in Nelson Dilipkumar's directorial seems to be disappointing to the viewers.
"Nobody would have recognised her if it hadn't been for the two songs released prior to the film's release. This is disappointing at many levels", one of her fans said at one of the theatres in Hyderabad, on Wednesday.
Star actresses are downgraded to only making cameo appearances in songs in superstar films, which seems to have changed in recent movies. However, in 'Beast,' Pooja Hegde played a silly role with no significance to the story, which changes the perspective that heroines are given equal importance in big-budget films starring popular heroes.
Pooja Hegde, who had appeared in super hit movies like 'Maharshi', 'DJ-Duvvada Jagannadham', 'Aravinda Sametha Veera Raghava', 'Ala Vaikunthapuramloo', has been in limelight for a long time now.

Los Angeles, Sept 25: A centuries old Japanese artefact was stolen from Barakat Art Gallery in Beveryly Grove in Los Angeles at 3:45 am on September 18. Strangely the heist was carried out by a lone thief. The gallery owner and officials expressed their shock as the weight of the bronze statue was a whopping 114kilograms.
This heist was captured on CCTV and it was observed that the thief allegedly broke into the entrance through a driveway gate. He then used a dolly to move the 114kg statue to a truck. The entire robbery took 25 minutes.
The stolen object belongs to the Japanese Edo period (1603-1867). The statue is a four feet tall Buddha with a halo, seated with crossed legs in Lotus position (Padmashana) with his hands in the 'Vajra Mudra'.
In this Mudra, the index finger of left hand is clasped by five fingers of right; also known as the 'six elements mudra' or 'fist of wisdom' mudra. It symbolises unity or five worldly elements (earth, water, fire, air and metal) with spiritual consciousness, read the statue's description in the gallery's website.

The artefact was made specifically to be the central sculpture of a temple. From the inscriptions on the sculpture it is likely that this idol was once placed in the Yudo-no-San Temple.
