He said voting was going on smoothly and no untoward or law and order was received by the election office by that time i.e. 9 am. He said a mock voting was conducted before real voting during which four EVMs were found faulty. Similarly, four other EVMs were found faulty as voting began. All these EVMs have been replaced forthwith, he said.
“Voting started at 7 am and will continue till 4 pm. Voters are requested to come to booths and cast their votes before 4 pm,” said the CEO.
He said help desks being operated by BLOs are providing required help and information to voters. Volunteers have been engaged to take handicapped and elderly voters to booths.
