"I have received a proposal from a particular party to fight the election from the Ghasipura assembly constituency. People here also request me to this effect," Patnaik told reporters after he visited Maa Tarini Temple today.
He said came to Ghatagaon to seek the blessings of Maa Tarini.
On the occasion, he wanted to know why the BJD was yet to name a candidate for the Khandapara assembly segment when elections is approaching fast.
According to the information, Patnaik was welcomed by hundreds of supporters in Ramchandrapur, Khalna, Barpada, Suampada and Hasanpur of the Ghasipura constituency. Recently, a good number of people from Ghasipura and Ghatgaon blocks went to Bhubaneswar to meet Soumaranjan Patnaik and requested him to fight the elections from the assembly seat.
"Everything will be clear in a day or two about the election contest. The party is not important, the love and respect of the common people has drawn me here. You will certainly know what will happen in the coming days," said Patnaik.
