Pradhan stated this after visiting the Shreemandir here early this morning. He expressed happiness in having Darshan of Lord Jagannath during Mangal Alati.
"I hope the State Government and the Shree Jagannath Temple Administration will take steps for early opening of the Ratna Bhandar, early completion of Shreemandir Parikrama Prakalpa and reinstallation of ancient sculptures in the project," said Pradhan.
Stating that early completion of the Parikrama Project would surely be a good move, the Union Minister wanted that all old mutts, temples and the statue of Pandit Gopabandhu Das to be renovated and reinstalled by the local administration.
The Union Minister held discussions with ASI and Shreemandir authorities on issues relating to the Ratna Bhandar. He too inspected repair works being done by the ASI at the Natamandap.
"Sentiments of Odia people and Hindu Sanatanis are linked to the Shreemandir and the Ratna Bhandar. The State and the Centre should give importance to the heritage issues along with the Prikrama project," said Pradhan.
He hoped that the ASI would successfully complete its work by the grace of Mahaprabhu (Lord Jagannath). He said all works of Shreemandir will be done smoothly with the support of Prime Minister Narendra Modi.
Regarding the opening of four gates, the Union Minister said authorities should ensure that devotees always have smooth Darshan of the deities.
"Jagannath Culture is not only a matter of religious devotion but a symbol of social reformation, social orientation, social custom, and progressive society," said Pradhan.
