Bhubaneswar, Nov 21: The Palasuni Square of Bhubaneswar on National Highway 16 claimed another life on Thursday morning, thanks to the lackadaisical attitude of concerned authorities who have promised and failed to consruct a foot over-bridge.
Today, a woman was killed and her identification was yet to be ascertained.
According to the information, the woman with a vegetable bag in her hand was crossing the road on foot when a truck ran over her. She died on the spot.
Tension ran high as locals gathered at the site.
It may be noted that many fatal accidents have occurred at Palasuni Square due to unsafe road crossing and speed driving. Despite frequent accidents, authorities have not constructed a foot overbridge at the block-spot site.
