In a social media post, the Chief Minister said he had a fruitful discussion with the Union Home Minister over various issues towards building a developed Odisha. In addition, a deliberate plan was made to eliminate Maoist activities in Odisha, he added.
“I had a courtesy meeting with Union Home Minister @AmitShah during my visit to New Delhi. We had had a fruitful discussion on various issues towards building a developed Odisha. In addition, a deliberate plan was made for elimination of Maoist activities in the state,” CM Majhi wrote on X.

Earlier in the day, CM Majhi attended a meeting of the Naxal affected states that was chaired by Shah.
In addition to CM Majhi, the Chief Ministers of Chhattisgarh, Madhya Pradesh, Maharashtra and Telangana, the Deputy Chief Minister of Bihar and the Home Minister of Andhra Pradesh participated in the meeting. Union Ministers from various ministries, who are cooperating with the states to accelerate developmental works in LWE-affected areas, were also present during the meeting.
The Union Home Minister said that under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, all Left-Wing Extremism (LWE)-affected states, working shoulder to shoulder, are committed to eliminating Naxalism by March 2026.
