The injured has been identified as Nilambar Meher. He was first rushed to the Sinapali Medical. However, he was later shifted to the Nuapada District Headquarters Hospital given his critical condition.
The police have detained seven persons in this connection.
According to the information, Nilambar, a resident of Sinapali town, opened his fast-food shop this morning as usual. After a while, a group of youths came and started arguing with him over some issues. As the quarrel escalated, one of the miscreants opened fire at him. He received bullet injuries in his belly.
On being informed, the Sinapali police reached the spot and started an investigation. They detained seven persons, all from the nearby Sinapali village.
