A 11-year-old girl was found dead in Odisha’s Nabarangpur district and her family alleged that she was raped and murdered, police said on Wednesday.

Nabarangpur, Sep 18: A 11-year-old girl was found dead in Odisha’s Nabarangpur district and her family alleged that she was raped and murdered, police said on Wednesday.

As per reports, the minor girl of Kantagam under Tentulikhunti police limits in the district left their house at around 1 PM yesterday to attend nature’s call. As the girl didn’t return home till late afternoon, family members started searching for her.

Later, the mutilated body of the minor girl was found near a bush behind the Govt High School in the village.

While a towel was found stuffed inside the mouth of the deceased, her dress was discovered some meters away from the body, locals said.

After getting information, Tentulikhunti Police and scientific team reached the spot and started an investigation into the matter.

“We have sent the body for an autopsy and a conclusion can be drawn only after we get the postmortem report,” a Police officer said.

“We are looking into every angle of the incident. The family members claimed that the girl was raped and murdered. Further investigation is underway,” he added.

CM Majhi Presents 100 Days' Report Card Of His Government, Claims All Promises Fulfilled On Time

Puri, Sept 19: Odisha Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi Thursday his government's 100 days report in which he claimed that promises made by his party BJP in the 2024 election manifesto have been met in a time-bound manner. His government is fully committed to fulfilling people's aspirations in the run-up to making 'Viksit Odisha' by 2036.

"We opened four gates of the Shreemandir and the Ratna Bhandar. We created a corpus fund of Rs 500 crore to meet Jagannath Temple's Exegencie and Rs 200 crore for the protection of Asmita. We launched Subhadra Yojana to provide financial support to women as promised by Prime Minister Narendra Modi. We have stringently initiated checking corruption in the State," claimed Majhi at a special programme held at Sharadhabali today.

He said as many as 71 corruption cases were registered in just 100 days and 58 government officials, including17 Class I and Seven Class II officers, were arrested.

Stating that the people of the State voted the BJP to power after being betrayed by the earlier BJD government for 24 years, the Chief Minister said, "We are a people's government focussing on people's aspirations. People's grievances were not being heard during the last government. We are now regularly hearing people's grievances," the Chief Minister said and added, "We are also planning to organize grievances cell in western, southern and northern parts and listen to people's problems in coming days.'

The Chief Minister said his government has already made a provision of Rs 5,000 crore in the State's Budget to procure paddy at Rs 3,100 per quintal from farmers. Support under CM Kisan Youjna will be provided to farmers soon. Eligible farmers, who were deprived of getting support from the earlier government, will get support under CM Kissan Yojana. A portal has been launched for this purpose.

"We have planned to create an industrial corridor. Three semiconductor units are going to be set up," said the Chief Minister.

Majhi said his government has already made efforts to establish FDI Parks and 11 MSME Parks to accelerate the economic growth of the State and provide jobs to youth.

The Chief Minister said an Awas Plus portal has already been made operational to provide free houses to all eligible people under the Prime Minister Awas Yojana.

As many as 800 PM Shree houses will be established and government schools will be made centres of excellence.

Majhi said the Aayusman Bharat Yojana will soon be introduced to provide healthcare support to the people. The already launched Gopabandhu Arogya Yojna will be a milestone in providing financial support to people in the treatment of life-threatening diseases.

Guidelines Issued In Odisha For Mpox

Bhubaneswar, Sept 19: The all important guidelines has been issued for the ongoing threat of Mpox (Monkeypox), said Dr Nilakantha Mishra, Director of Public Health.

"Guidelines have been issued to all the districts. Guidelines have also been issued to Airport and Port Authorities," said Dr Nilakantha Mishra.

Explaining a bit about the guidelines, the Director of Public Health said, "Whoever is travelling abroad or has come in contact with Mpox, they have been kept in isolation. Authorities have been instructed to test their samples."

Dr Nilakantha Mishra has also cleared the doubts over any possible threat of spreading in Odisha, saying not even a single person, having Mpox symptoms, has come to Odisha.

"Mpox has been spreading mostly in Africa. So the state authorities have been instructed to keep a close eye on people coming from Africa," stated Dr Mishra.

In addition, he also said that whoever is coming from affected places, will must have a 21-day isolation.
