Crocodile Attacks have Claimed 22 Lives In Last 5 Years: Forest Minister Ganesh Ram Singkhuntia

Bhubaneswar, Nov 26: As many as 22 deaths have been registered in crocodile attacks in last five years, said Ganesh Ram Singkhuntia, Minister of Forest, Environment & Climate Change, Labour & Employees State Insurance.
Responding to a question during the ongoing Winter Session of the Odisha Legislative Assembly, the Forest Minister said that crocodiles have killed 22 persons in Kendrapara.
"The crocodile attacks have taken lives in Brahmani, Baitarani and kharasrota rivers," stated Ganesh Ram Singkhuntia.
Explaining the reason, the Minister said that during the rainy season, the crocodiles move towards shores when the water level in the rivers rise during rainy season.
