Addressing a Press meet, the party's State spokesperson Anil Biswal wanted to know why the Naveen Patnaik government is not implementing Central shemes meant for educational sector growth when it is signing MoUs with private educational institutions.
"The Naveen Patnaik government is signing MoUs with private organizations to set up educational institutions in the State. But, it is not keen on Central support for the qualitative growth of the sector. PM SHRI and PM USHA are not being implemented. It is understood from the fact that the State government has no concern for the development of the State," alleged Biswal.
Biswal further alleged that the State government has hatched a plan to destroy government educational institutions in the State by establishing private institutions.
He wanted to know why the State government would provide assistance of Rs 300 crore to private educational institutions of other States. At the same time, economically poor Odia students can't pursue education in those costly institutions. He suggested that Odia students should be taught free of cost in the 30 percent of seats in private institutions as they are taking all support from the government.
Biswal slammed the Odisha government for not implementing the PM SHRI and PM USHA schemes in the State. He said Odisha will lose Rs 1600 crore if the PM School for Rising India is not implemented in Odisha.
